FAQ

Straight answers, even to the hard ones.

How does Attend get paid?

We are fee-based. Portfolio management is a tiered percentage of assets we manage, billed in arrears, and financial plans are a flat fixed fee. Where an insurance product is implemented, it pays a commission, and we tell you that plainly before anything is placed. Our full fee schedule is published in our Form ADV.

What does “fiduciary” actually mean here?

On our advisory services, we are held to a fiduciary standard, in writing: advice in your best interest. Insurance implementation is different; it is compensated by commission and is not advisory, which is exactly why we disclose it before anything is placed. We would rather explain the line honestly than pretend it is not there.

Who actually holds my money?

Not us. Client accounts are held in your own name at Charles Schwab, one of the largest custodians in the country. Attend does not take custody of your assets: you can log in at Schwab any time and see every holding and every transaction for yourself.

What if I want to leave?

You can end the relationship at any time with written notice, and within the first five business days of signing you receive a full refund of fees. There are no lock-ups. Because your accounts are already at Schwab in your name, they simply stay yours.

Is there a minimum to work with you?

No. Attend has no account minimum for any of its services. We work with people at the moment their finances get complicated, not at an arbitrary asset number.

How can I check up on Attend before trusting you?

Please do. Our registration, Form ADV, and disciplinary history (we have none to report) are public on the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure site; look us up by CRD #335194 at adviserinfo.sec.gov. Independent client reviews live on Google, where we cannot edit or remove them.

What happens on the first call?

You bring one question. We listen, tell you straight whether and how we can help, and outline what a plan would look like. No pressure, no pitch, and no obligation.

Do I have to move all my accounts?

No. We start with the plan. If managing investments together makes sense, transfers are handled carefully to avoid unnecessary taxes, and anything better left where it is, stays where it is.

Take care of you.
